Teaching

Teaching profile

My teaching approach combines conceptual clarity, applied examples, structured learning materials, responsible student support, and research-informed practice.

I am seeking a Lecturer position in Economics where I can contribute through structured teaching, responsible mentorship, clear learning materials, and evidence-based academic practice.

My instructional experience has developed through project-based training and research-support activities at the National Academy for Planning and Development and the SUST Research Center. These engagements required me to explain research concepts, guide practical tasks, review academic work, and support learners with different levels of prior experience. My M.S.S. thesis, “Healing or Hurting? Assessing the Financial Fallout of Child Health Expenses in Bangladesh,” also gives a direct academic foundation for teaching Health Economics, Applied Microeconomics, Development Economics, household welfare, and public policy.

Students learn Economics most effectively when theory is presented clearly, connected to familiar realities, and reinforced through active problem-solving.

Teaching philosophy

I aim to create a classroom where academic standards are explicit, questions are welcomed, and students understand both the logic of an economic model and its limitations. I would use short concept explanations, Bangladesh-focused cases, guided data exercises, structured discussion, and low-stakes formative checks before major assessments.

Participation in the Bangladesh Youth Delegation Education Exchange Program in Beijing, China, also strengthened my interest in internationally informed teaching. Observing a different educational environment encouraged me to value clear learning objectives, disciplined preparation, purposeful use of teaching resources, active student participation, and regular feedback. I would apply these principles in a practical way while remaining sensitive to the curriculum, class size, and learning needs of Bangladeshi students.
